FG Public School No. 1 Girls Taxila Cantt was established in 1988. Prior to this, it was the Girls Campus of Govt. High School HIT. In 1992, it was shifted to the current building to meet the growing requirement of admissions. The building of this school is located on the main road of HIT Cantt. The building is not purpose built. Earlier it was a hostel for HIT employees. To cater the needs of a school, few modifications were done in its structure. Federal Government Educational Institutions Directorate (Cantonments/ Garrisons) is the governing body of this institution headed by the Director General Federal Government Educational Institutions (Cantonments/Garrisons). Mrs. S.F.F. Bukhari was the founding principal who remained in office from 1989 to 1995. Currently, Mrs. Najma is holding the office.
FG Public School No. 1 Girls Taxila Cantt is a girls’ institution. At primary level, the classes are being offered from grade I-V. There are 8 sections at this level. The main focus of teachers at this level is building a sound foundation in all subject streams. Students from grade VI-VIII are provided with specialized staff to meet the requirement of middle level. There are 7 sections of middle level in our school. There are 5 sections of grade IX and X. The school is affiliated with FBISE ( Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education). We offer, science subjects at this level with the variation of Biology and Computer subjects of choice.
FG Public School No.1 Girls Taxila Cantt initiated pre-1 class for the girls in year 2022. We focus on creating a sound academic foundation for students by developing their pre-writing and motor skills. For this purpose, specialized staff has been hired to cater the needs of young children. Activity-based teaching methodology is adopted with focus on key learning areas including personal, social and emotional development; language & literacy; basic mathematical concepts; the world around us; physical development; health, hygiene & safety; and creative arts.
FG Public School No. 1 always tried to maintain quality education which is reflected in its achievements. The institution was declared as the Best institution in Wah Region for its outstanding results in 2018. Its achievements also include the best teacher award for the subject of English (MSSE) for the year 2006 in Wah Region; two best teachers awards for the subject of Mathematics (PSSE) and Urdu (SSC) for the year 2007 in Wah Region; two best teachers awards for the subject of Biology (SSC) and G. Science ( MSSE) for the year 2012 in Wah Region and the best teacher award for the subject Islamiat (PSSE) for the year 2019.
